Destination Gippsland Welcomes You

Destination Gippsland welcomes you to visit Gippsland when you hold your next event here

We encourage you to experience the diverse nature based experiences on offer that will complement your event.

Due to its proximity to Melbourne the Latrobe Valley is well placed to service event organisers with a variety of venues, accommodation styles and significant world class sporting and recreational facilities.

Gippsland’s destination appeal is underpinned by its spectacular national parks showcasing alpine peaks and old growth forests including Croajingolong, Tarra Bulga and Mount Baw Baw. We have one of Australia’s biggest and most beautiful inland water ways –

the Gippsland Lakes, pristine stretches of coastline including Ninety Mile Beach, along with other popular places to see wildlife such as Wilsons Promontory National Park and Phillip Island.

With engaging towns and villages scattered throughout the region, and emerging creative industries, the opportunities to explore are endless. Gippsland inspires adventure with swimming, fishing, camping, boating, cycling, and hiking along with a range of other activities. Local produce is abundant and celebrated regionally and internationally.

Gippsland’s natural beauty, outstanding experiences, and life changing moments inspire the world to visit. We invite your event to our region and look forward to you finding inspiration here.

Game Changing Investment In Gippsland

Latrobe Valley’s past is synonymous with coal and industry, but its future is being fuelled by a different form of energy – the power of collaboration, opportunity and action.

Latrobe Valley Authority has joined forces with Latrobe City, Baw Baw Shire and Wellington Shire councils, Sport and Recreation Victoria and a plethora of powerhouse sporting icons to foster greater Gippsland’s strengths in sport and recreation as a new bastion for prosperity.

An $85 million package has been delivered hand-in-hand by multiple tiers of government, local people and some of the biggest names in sport to flesh out a bold program of works, major events and community activations to realise the region’s potential in this space.

New, upgraded and existing facilities including: the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre, Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium, Cricket Centre of Excellence at Ted Summerton Reserve, Lardner Park, Gippsland Regional Sports Complex and many more have re-defined the Latrobe Valley as a premier events destination.

These facilities build on the enormous recreational infrastructure available across the Latrobe Valley.
